Korean Seollal Events 2027

Seollal is the Korean Lunar New Year. Families honor their ancestors with a morning rite called charye, younger relatives make a deep New Year's bow called sebae to their elders, and everyone eats tteokguk, a rice cake soup said to make you a year older. Many people wear hanbok, traditional Korean clothing.

The events below are Seollal celebrations hosted by Korean American and Korean Canadian communities. Learn more in our Seollal guide.
