Tsagaan Sar Events 2027 (Mongolian Lunar New Year)
Tsagaan Sar, the Mongolian Lunar New Year, is listed for February 6–9, 2027 (provisional until Mongolia confirms the dates).
Tsagaan Sar is the Mongolian Lunar New Year. It celebrates making it safely through the harsh winter, welcoming the new year and growing a year wiser.
Before the old year ends, people try to repay debts and settle disagreements so the new year starts fresh. Families prepare a feast of dairy foods and mutton, gather in a respectful atmosphere and honor their elders with zolgokh (the traditional New Year greeting), exchanging good wishes for the year ahead.
In 2027, Mongolia's Tsagaan Sar holiday is listed for February 6 to 9, provisional until Mongolia confirms the dates. In the US and Canada, look for Tsagaan Sar celebrations hosted by Mongolian community groups.
