Lunar New Year 2027 Events in Michigan

Lunar New Year's Day lands on Saturday, February 6, 2027, kicking off the Year of the Goat. Michigan's Lunar New Year events are still being verified, and they will be added here as organizers confirm them, so check back soon.

Here's what to picture when the celebrations arrive. Lion dances are meant to bring good luck, so expect the boom of drums and the crash of cymbals to carry through the room. Families often share red envelopes (hóngbāo, red envelopes filled with money) and sit down to big meals.

Celebrations often run for about two weeks, all the way through the Lantern Festival. That's a long stretch to plan around, so start looking now and mark your calendar for February 6.
