When the sun goes down and drones start drawing glowing shapes over the park, you know the Lunar New Year Festival at Stone Mountain Park in Stone Mountain, Georgia, is in full swing. The evening festival celebrates Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese and other lunar-calendar New Year traditions. The 2027 dates haven’t been announced yet.

What to expect

In 2026, billed by the park as its fourth annual festival, it ran on Saturdays and Sundays only, from Saturday, February 14 through Sunday, March 1, from 4 to 9 PM. A lighted parade with dancers, dragon and lion dance teams, and a lantern parade wound through Crossroads, and each night ended with a drone and light show, fire drones included, on Memorial Lawn.

You could also catch a K-Pop (Korean pop music) competition, try crafts such as calligraphy and knot tying, and graze at food trucks serving pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), egg rolls and bubble tea (sweet tea with chewy tapioca pearls). Just don’t expect the fire drones to share their egg rolls.
