LunarNewYearEvents.com is free to use, and we’d like to keep it that way. To pay for the site, we show ads and use some affiliate links. Here’s exactly what that means for you.
What an affiliate link is
Some links on this site, for example links to buy event tickets, book a hotel near a festival or shop for Lunar New Year supplies, are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something, the company may pay us a small commission. You never pay more because you used our link.
How we label them
Wherever we use affiliate links, we say so right next to them, with a short note such as “We may earn a commission if you buy through this link.” You’ll find this page linked at the bottom of every page, too.
Who we may work with
We may join affiliate programs run by ticket sellers, hotel and travel booking services, and online stores. Examples include:
- Ticket sellers, such as Ticketmaster (through its affiliate partner Impact).
- Hotel and travel booking services, such as Stay22, which shows places to stay near an event.
- Online stores, such as Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
We’ll keep this list up to date as programs change.
Our promise
- Listings are never for sale. We list Lunar New Year events because they’re worth knowing about, not because anyone paid us or because a link earns a commission. Free community celebrations get the same space as ticketed shows.
- Commissions don’t change what we write. Our guides and city pages are based on organizers’ own information and trusted sources, which we list on each guide.
- Ads are clearly ads. Ads are shown by Google AdSense and are labeled as ads. We don’t choose individual ads, and seeing one doesn’t mean we endorse it.
