Lunar New Year 2027 Events in Philadelphia, PA
Lunar New Year's Day is Saturday, February 6, 2027, the start of the Year of the Goat.

Ever been to a Lunar New Year parade after dark? In Philadelphia, you can. Lunar New Year's Day is Saturday, February 6, 2027, the start of the Year of the Goat, and Chinatown welcomes it with not one parade but two.
First comes the Chinatown Night Parade, on the eve of the new year. In 2026 it lit up the streets on Monday, February 16. Then the Chinatown Day Parade brings the celebration back out in daylight. It was Sunday, February 22 in 2026. Neither 2027 date is out yet, and we'll post them the moment they are.
The party spreads well beyond Chinatown. Last season, the Penn Museum kicked things off with its CultureFest on January 31, Dilworth Park and Franklin Square both celebrated on February 21, and a Chinatown market on February 28 gave everyone one more chance to join in.
"You hear the drums before you see anything. Then the lion bursts in, and every kid on the sidewalk forgets to breathe." (Ben, founder of LunarNewYearEvents.com)
