The St. Louis Vietnamese Community Lunar New Year Celebration is the city’s long-running Tết (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) party, held at St. Mary’s High School in St. Louis. Picture drums for the lion dance, kids showing off their holiday outfits and the smell of food vendors drifting by. The 2027 dates haven’t been announced yet; in 2026 it ran Sunday, February 22, from 1 to 4 p.m.
What to expect
The nonprofit St. Louis Vietnamese Community has hosted a Tết celebration in St. Louis for more than 30 years. The afternoon opens with a traditional ceremony and moves on to games, lucky envelopes and a raffle.
You’ll also find music, a lion dance and food vendors, plus an áo dài (Vietnamese long tunic dress) contest for kids. Bring a little patience for the raffle; somebody has to win.
