Lunar New Year Festival Austin at The Paper + Craft Pantry

Think lion dance cymbals and a long row of makers’ tables: Lunar New Year Festival Austin, hosted by The Paper + Craft Pantry, is a one-day, family-friendly festival at Springdale General in East Austin. The 2027 dates haven’t been announced yet. In 2026 the fifth annual festival took place Sunday, February 22, from 11 am to 5 pm.

What to expect

The heart of the day is a pop-up market with more than 30 Asian-owned vendors. Traditional lion and dragon dances and live performances keep things moving, and local food and drinks are on hand.

Past editions added face painting, craft stations and a bilingual storytime, so it’s an easy pick for kids. Budget a little extra time (and tote space) for the market.
