Lion dances in a mall food court? At Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia, that’s a Lunar New Year tradition. The mall and the Asian American Chamber of Commerce have teamed up on this celebration for a decade, and 2026 marked the 10th annual event. The 2027 date hasn’t been announced yet; the last one was Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1 to 5 p.m.
What to Expect
The celebration takes over the dining pavilion on the mall’s Metro level with traditional music and dance performances, cultural activities and shopping. Past years have brought lion dances, a dragon parade and Asian fashion shows, so there’s plenty to watch while you grab a bite.
It runs four hours on a Saturday afternoon, which makes it easy to drop in between errands. Come hungry and stay for a few performances.
