Meet a lion up close! The Bata Shoe Museum on Bloor Street opens its doors free for an afternoon of lion dances, photos and family crafts. Lion Dance Toronto performs several times, so you don’t have to rush. The 2027 date hasn’t been announced yet; the most recent edition was Sunday, February 8, 2026, from noon to 4 PM.
What to Expect
After each lion dance there’s time for photos and a meet-and-greet with the lions, which little ones tend to love.
The 2026 afternoon added traditional Korean dance by the Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada and family crafts. In 2025 the museum hosted tea ceremony demonstrations with the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto.
