Lion dance drums, sizzling food stalls and families dressed up for the new year set the scene at the San Jose Tet Festival, a free celebration of Tết (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) at Eastridge Center in San Jose. The 2027 dates haven’t been announced yet. In 2026 it ran Friday through Sunday, February 20 to 22, 2026.
What to expect
This three-day festival packs a lot into a shopping center. You’ll find lion dancing, lucky money and gift exchanges, and a wide variety of food and drink. The stage stays busy with a student singing contest, the Miss Vietnam California pageant, a fashion show and K-pop dance performances.
Carnival rides and 3-D theme park photo ops round things out, so bring your phone and maybe a spare battery. The 2025 edition marked the festival’s tenth year.
